Our History

Research and Development Foundation (READ) was established on June 12^th, 2023, initiated by Mr. Febrianda, S.T., M.Sc. The foundation's establishment reflects Mr. Febrianda's deep concern for the sustainability of coastal regions and the well-being of the communities within them. READ's current focus is addressing sea turtle conservation issues in Binasi Coast, Tapanuli Tengah, North Sumatra. This location was chosen due to Mr. Febrianda's commitment to his hometown, which serves as a habitat for four out of the seven sea turtle species worldwide. Anthropogenic activities pose a significant threat to the sustainability of turtle nesting sites on this beach. In the future, READ is open to engaging in coastal and marine conservation work in other locations, aligning with our vision of creating sustainable coastal and marine ecosystems and empowering coastal communities through relevant research and innovation.
